2021 Build Week 2

Thank you Central Coast Lodge #237

Using their building gave the team a place where all the sub-teams could meet and work in one place. This is enabling us to have a much smoother workflow and the best chance to create a competitive robot this year.

Daily Bulletin – January 31st
Our school, Arroyo Grande High School, hosts a bi-weekly bulletin, which informs the campus of all the events for that following day. Our team got to be the stars of the video bulletin for January 31st. The leadership team came to our January 30th meeting and had various members of the team talk about what was going on at our school, as well as show off a robot.
The following is a link to the bulletin we filmed featuring the team. Hope you all enjoy. Go eagles!
Week Two – January 18th
Eagle Robotics Newsletter
Hello everyone! We hope you enjoyed reading our first installment of the newsletter last week. This week, Team 1388 is wrapping up the second week of build season.
Our team has been hard at work, here are some updates on our progress as we head into the third week of build season.
The design subteam has been working on the designs for the climber, shooter, magazine. They have also sent the design for the control panel frame to fabrication, and the drivetrain plates have been sent to Top Precision to be manufactured.
Programming has reviewed the code for drive trains, and welding has been practicing welds and working on the frame for the robot. Fabrication has been working on the frame of the robot, as well as prototyping and testing the shooter. The electrical subteam has been working on hooking up the motor for the shooter prototype.
The strategy subteam has begun setting up the practice field and getting robots ready to practice driving. They have also finished recon forms and spreadsheets, and are collecting sign-ups for driver team tryouts.
Thank you for supporting Eagle Robotics, and stay tuned for more updates on the team! For more information, visit our website at eaglerobotics.com, and follow us on Instagram @eaglerobotics.
Week One – January 11th
Hello everyone! Welcome to the first installment of Team 1388’s newsletter, where we will be including updates and information about the team. Today the Eagle Robotics team is finishing up the first week of build season. This year’s challenge for the FIRST Robotics Competition is Infinite Recharge. In Infinite Recharge, two alliances work to protect FIRST City from approaching asteroids caused by a distant space skirmish. Each Alliance, along with their trusty droids, race to collect and score Power Cells in order to energize their Shield Generator for maximum protection. To activate stages of the Shield Generator, droids manipulate their Control Panels after scoring a specific number of Power Cells. Near the end of the match, droids race to their Rendezvous Point to get their Shield Generator operational in order to protect the city! The link below is an animation of the game.
Our team has been hard at work to start building our robot for competition. Here are some updates on what each subteam has been doing this week.
Design has been modeling the drive train frame and drive plates, as well as figuring out the robot’s mechanisms. They have also been designing prototypes for fabrication to build.
Welding has made a frame for the robot’s control panel, and has been teaching their new subteam member some welding skills.
Programming has updated software on a past robot, and is currently working on the control panel and drive train for this year’s robot.
Public Relations/Marketing has been working on the design for the team’s t-shirts and buttons, updating our website and blog, taking photos, and reaching out to our generous donors and local schools.
Electrical has made another test board to work on, as well as wired the swerve drive on a test board.
Fabrication has been prototyping the shooter for the robot, as well as building field elements to practice for competition.
Strategy has been reading the manual and doing research on motor controls and projectiles.

Thank you for supporting Eagle Robotics, and stay tuned for more updates on the team! For more information, visit our website at eaglerobotics.com, and follow us on Instagram @eaglerobotics.
