Our Team:

Eagle Robotics competes within US FIRST, an organization dedicated to promoting engineering interest through hands-on experience. Every January, FIRST broadcasts the year's game challenge and from there the team has six weeks to build a robot that meets the game's requirements. At the end of those six weeks, the robot must be shipped to FIRST in order to qualify for competition. In order to meet the deadline, Eagle Robotics members work six hours a day, six days a week.

The students are organized according to the major sub-systems of the robot and their specific interests. The major areas of interest within this team include engineering, software development, robot mechanics, web site design & development, marketing, and general business. The Cost:

Entry fees for FIRST Regional Competitions range from $4000 to $6000. In addition, building the robot is far from cheap. Each piece of material on the robot must be bought with team funds. This includes frame material, electrical systems, and drive train mechanisms. The total building cost adds up to about $15,000. After entry and building fees comes the shipping fee: around $500. Then, since team members need to eat and sleep at the two Regionals, hotel, food, and transportation adds up to just under $18,000.

Be a Sponsor:

The team raises money in a number of different ways but most importantly through our sponsors. Organizations and individuals contribute money to support our team effort and to them we are very grateful. Our sponsorship levels start as low as $25 and go up to $5,000. Our sponsors are recognized on our Sponsor page with a link to their website.

Sponsorship comes in various forms. One way to sponsor Eagle Robotics is to lend knowledge and man(woman)-power. Currently we have over 15 members of the community giving their support though engineering backrounds, web design backrounds, or marketing support. Mentors are recognized on our Mentor page. If you would like to volunteer please contact Bill Findley at bfindley@lmusd.org. Another way to help Eagle Robotics is to give monetary support. Without funds, our team would cease to exist. With the total cost of two Regional Competitions being over $30,000 we appreciate any and all sponsors from the community!

Every year we hold a raffle for fundraising purposes. A great way to sponsor our team is to donate gift certificates or other items to be raffled off.

At the end of each year, Albertson's will send a portion of what you've spent using your Albertson's Preferred Card back to the Organization of your choice. Make that organization Eagle Robotics 1388 by sending us your card information. We need the First and Last Name on the card, the Phone Number linked to the card, and the Card Number(on the back, under the bar code). Send this information to bfindley@lmusd.org You'll be sponsoring us just by doing your daily shopping!
